Our Story

A School Built Around
The Adult Learner

muangacaad was founded by financial practitioners who believed that adults in Thailand deserved structured, unhurried financial education — not product pitches dressed up as courses.

Who We Are

The muangacaad Story

muangacaad opened its doors in Asok, Bangkok, after years of conversations between financial professionals who kept hearing the same thing: adults in their forties and fifties wanted to understand money better, but found most available resources either too basic, too product-oriented, or too rushed.

Our founders — a certified financial planner, a Thai tax practitioner, and an estate attorney — decided to address that gap directly. They designed programs the way academic institutions design courses: with clear objectives, a considered sequence, small study groups, and instructors who teach rather than sell.

Since our first cohort, we have worked with learners from a wide range of professional backgrounds: engineers, doctors, small business owners, civil servants, and returning expatriates who want to understand Thai financial instruments for the first time. What they share is a desire to approach their finances with care and with a longer horizon in mind.

Our programs have been refined across many cohorts. We revise curriculum when the regulatory environment changes — such as updates to Thai RMF and SSF contribution rules — and we add new topics as our learners ask for them. The school grows from the needs of the people in our classrooms, not from marketing calendars.

Our Mission

To give adult learners in Thailand a clear, structured understanding of their own financial situation — without rushing them, without selling to them, and without simplifying away the things that actually matter.

Our Approach

We believe financial education works best when it is paced for retention, grounded in real Thai instruments and regulations, and delivered by practitioners who hold active professional credentials in the topics they teach.

Our Values

  • Honesty over reassurance
  • Depth over volume
  • Independence from financial product sales
  • Respect for the adult learner's intelligence

How We Hold Ourselves Accountable

Credentialled Faculty

All faculty hold current professional credentials from recognised Thai and international bodies, including CFP and Thai bar membership. No unlicenced instructors teach financial topics.

Annual Curriculum Review

Course materials are reviewed each year against current Thai tax law, provident fund regulations, and financial planning practice standards. Updates are communicated to alumni as well.

No Product Sales

muangacaad holds no affiliation with fund managers, insurance companies, or brokerage firms. Faculty members are contractually prohibited from soliciting product sales to learners.

Learner Data Protection

Personal financial details shared during coaching sessions are held in confidence and not retained beyond the program period without explicit consent. We comply with Thailand's PDPA framework.

Small Group Sizes

Program cohorts are kept deliberately small — twelve learners maximum for introductory programs and six for senior programs — to preserve the quality of conversation and instructor attention.

Completion Standards

Certificates of completion are issued only upon attendance of all sessions and submission of workbook assignments. They are not issued for partial completion or payment alone.

Financial education for adults over forty requires a different kind of institution than the ones designed for young professionals beginning their careers. The decisions facing a person in their forties — how to organise a retirement plan, how to think about a provident fund balance, how to prepare an estate plan for a Thai family — carry more weight and more complexity than the foundational decisions of early adulthood.

muangacaad's programs in Bangkok are built around that reality. The introductory course addresses household cashflow and insurance review in a way that meets learners where they actually are: with existing accounts, existing commitments, and existing habits that need to be examined rather than replaced wholesale. The intermediate program addresses the specific calculations and planning windows that matter most for people five to fifteen years from leaving full-time work. The senior program assembles a team of specialists — financial planner, attorney, tax practitioner, and family communication specialist — to work through legacy and estate considerations that no single instructor can address adequately alone.

Each course is delivered in English to serve Bangkok's internationally oriented professional community, and all content is grounded in Thai regulatory and financial structures including the provident fund system, RMF and SSF tax-advantaged accounts, and the Thai inheritance framework. Learners receive printed workbooks, attend structured sessions, and have access to instructors between sessions for questions specific to their own situations.
